Landscapes and paintings
inspired by nature.
Rosie Davies trained at the Stafford College of Art and Design 1968 - 71
She now lives and has her studio in the Tithe Barn in Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog, a picturesque little village set in the heart of the Ceiriog Valley.
In 2000 Rosie re-located to the hills and valleys of Wales from the flat plains of Cheshire. Not only was her lifestyle changed, but also her personal life took on a complete re-direction in the development of her artistic skills. With thirty years of experience of design in the Fashion industry, Rosie now uses her knowledge of colour, form, and illustrative techniques that had been so much a part of her previous career.
A lifetime's fascination with textiles is displayed in her ink and wash Fashion images.
For landscape painting, inspiration is drawn from the lush green pasturelands of the valley and the rugged Berwyn hills where the tracks and drovers' roads are marked by gnarled and ancient trees and hedgerows.
All plantlife, with nature's intricate design in construction and markings is a constant temptation for Rosie to put pen and brush to paper, but always working in large format so that the viewer gets the bee's eye view!
Rosie's portfolio is constantly expanding, with commissions for private clients. Paintings have been requested for retirement gifts, others to commemorate a special event; the Bride's Bouquet, for example, or just to satisfy a client's infatuation with a special subject: see the Chirk Hare.
